The Richmond Promise Scholarship, run by the college-access nonprofit GRASP with backing from the City of Richmond's Office of the Mayor and corporate donors, helps Richmond Public Schools seniors get to community college. To apply, you'll need to have worked with your school's GRASP advisor, file a FAFSA or VASA showing financial need, and plan to enroll at a Virginia Community College for a career certificate, Associate degree, or a transfer-track Associate degree. Many recipients also receive an ongoing monthly stipend on top of the scholarship to help cover costs while in school. There's no fee to apply.
DemographicsLimited to graduating seniors of Richmond City public high schools who show financial need on the FAFSA or VASA and plan to attend a Virginia Community College; apply free through your school's GRASP advisor.
Some recipients also receive an ongoing monthly stipend; the program does not publish a fixed award amount.
