Mitchell Scholars

Founded by former U.S. Senator George Mitchell, the Mitchell Institute awards 200 Mitchell Scholarships a year statewide, guaranteeing at least one recipient from each of Maine's 137 public high schools. Selection weighs academic promise, community impact, and financial need, and winners also join a lifelong network offering career advising, fellowship funding, and emergency aid throughout college.
