The University Scholar Award is the top tier of Kansas State's automatic recognition scholarship ladder for Kansas-resident freshmen. It goes to students with at least a 3.85 GPA and a 29 ACT (or 1330 SAT), or a 3.95+ GPA and at least a 27 ACT (or roughly 1260-1300 SAT) -- every tier on the ladder requires a qualifying test score, with no test-optional path. The award is $5,000 a year for up to four years, $20,000 total, granted automatically upon admission with no separate application, and renews with a 3.0 K-State GPA.
