Run by the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce's World Class Schools initiative, the Best & Brightest Awards honor Leon County graduating seniors across 15 categories from Art to World Languages. Participating public and private high schools nominate students in each category, and nominees submit a transcript, resume, a faculty letter of recommendation, and supporting documents before a volunteer judging panel interviews finalists. Winners choose between a $5,000 Florida Prepaid tuition scholarship or a $1,500 cash prize, runners-up choose $2,500 tuition or $750 cash, and honorable mentions receive $500 cash.
