The Blinded Veterans Association's Sue Cantrell Scholarships award four $2,500 scholarships each year to the spouse, child, or grandchild of a current or deceased verified BVA member, to help with college or vocational/technical school tuition. Selection is merit-based, and recipients can reapply and receive the award up to four times over their academic career. Applicants submit high school and/or college transcripts, three signed reference letters (none from family), and a personal statement on their career goals. Program details, including that year's number of scholarships and dollar amounts, are announced each December for the following fall; the 2026-27 cycle's deadline was April 30, 2026.
