The U.S. Army Warrant Officers Association Scholarship Foundation (USAWOASF), a 501(c)(3) separate from USAWOA itself, has funded the education of Warrant Officer families since 2003. It offers two tracks: a Traditional College Scholarship for four-year bachelor's programs, and a newer Vocational/Technical College Scholarship for two-year certification programs (renewable for a second year). Eligible applicants are the child, grandchild, or dependent stepchild of a USAWOA member in good standing at the time of application; only one USAWOA scholarship is allowed per student per year, and a student who won in the prior cycle can't reapply the next year. Each track has its own application packet with an essay (one of three prompts) and a recommendation letter. Applications run February 1 through June 30 each year, with awards announced the first week of August and paid directly to the recipient's school.
