Nevada resident freshmen with the strongest academic records qualify for UNR's Presidential Level scholarship, the top tier of the university's four-year merit ladder. Reaching this tier takes close to a 4.0 unweighted GPA paired with a strong ACT or SAT score, and the award pays $10,000 a year for up to four years. To be considered, students need a completed admissions application, transcripts, test scores, FAFSA, and the general MyNEVADA scholarship application on file by February 15. Renewal requires keeping a 3.5 cumulative UNR GPA and full-time enrollment (15 credits each fall/spring semester).
DemographicsRequires admission to University of Nevada, Reno as a Nevada resident freshman meeting the tier's GPA/test-score threshold, considered alongside a MyNEVADA general scholarship application (both due Feb. 15).
Renewable up to 4 years (up to $40,000 total); requires a 3.5 UNR GPA and 15 credits/semester to renew.
