The Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program is Boston College's most prestigious merit scholarship, providing full tuition regardless of financial need (with additional need-based aid layered on top if needed) for four years. About 18 students are invited to join each year, selected from applicants with outstanding academic records, school leadership roles, and demonstrated commitment to community service — typically the top 1-2% of BC's applicant pool. There is no separate application: all applicants who submit their Boston College application (Early Decision I, Early Decision II, or Regular Decision) by the November 1 priority deadline are automatically considered. Finalists are notified of admission by February 1 and visit campus for interviews before final selection. Scholars must maintain a 3.6 GPA to remain in the program. International students are eligible; transfer students are not.
