The Chicago Housing Authority awards $2,000 scholarships toward tuition, books, and supplies to current CHA residents - public housing residents and Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) holders alike - who are listed on a CHA lease. High school seniors and current undergraduates can apply if they plan to enroll in a two- or four-year college and have at least a 2.0 GPA (2.5+ recommended). The application runs through CHA's AIM portal and includes short essay prompts; residents can apply again in later years. It's open only to households on a current CHA lease, not to Chicago residents generally.
DemographicsMust be a current Chicago Housing Authority resident (public housing or Housing Choice Voucher/Section 8) listed on a CHA lease; not open to non-CHA Chicago residents.
Paid toward tuition, books, or supplies; residents may apply again in future years.
