The Navy League Foundation funds a rotating slate of roughly two dozen named scholarships for high school seniors who are the dependent, child, stepchild, grandchild, step-grandchild, or great-grandchild of a current or former member of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, U.S.-flag Merchant Marine, or U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps (Sea Cadet applicants must be the cadet themselves). Awards range from $1,000 annual grants (the Alaska Sea Service Scholarship, 4 awards for Alaska residents) up to $20,000 paid over four years (the Frederick O. Harper Scholarship and the Navy League Foundation Scholarship itself); most named funds pay $10,000 over four years. General eligibility sets no blanket GPA floor, though at least one named fund (the Captain J. Phillip London Scholarship) requires a 3.0 GPA. Applicants submit official SAT or ACT scores, a completed FAFSA, proof of the qualifying military relationship, and a letter of recommendation. Applications for the 2027-28 cycle open October 15, 2026.
