The Cincinnatus Scholarship is the University of Cincinnati's flagship merit scholarship for incoming first-year students. Its top Presidential tier covers tuition, mandatory fees, room, board, and books for four years, with about 20 awards made each year; Century and University tiers offer smaller awards ($1,000-$6,000/year) to a wider pool of applicants. There is no separate scholarship application — students are automatically considered based on the general admission application (Common App, $50 fee) submitted by Nov. 1 of senior year. Renewal requires a 3.0 GPA and 30 hours of community service each year, and out-of-state recipients receive an additional $3,000 annual supplement on top of their award.
