The Regents' and Chancellor's Scholarship is UC Berkeley's most prestigious undergraduate honor, recognizing entering students for outstanding academic achievement and promise. Every first-year applicant — California resident, out-of-state, or international — is automatically considered through the regular UC application; there's no separate scholarship form or fee. Recipients get a guaranteed minimum of $2,500 a year, with additional grant aid layered in up to full financial need for those who qualify, plus guaranteed on-campus housing, priority class enrollment, faculty guidance and mentorship, and access to up to $1,000 in funding for research or professional-development activities. The award renews for up to eight semesters for entering first-years.
