This program is open to dependent children of USAA employees — full-time, part-time, on long-term disability, or on approved military leave — with at least one year of USAA employment. Graduating high school seniors, or recent December graduates, who plan to enroll full-time at a two- or four-year accredited college can apply with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Up to 65 awards of $2,500 are given each year across merit-based and need-based tracks, and they're renewable for up to three additional years for students who keep a 2.5 GPA. Students who already hold a USAA-sponsored National Merit or National Achievement Scholarship aren't eligible for this one. The application asks for a transcript, SAT/ACT scores, and one online recommendation form — no personal essay is required.
