Peoria Promise pays whatever tuition and required fees are left after other financial aid for graduates of Peoria-area high schools (or GED or an approved homeschool program) who enroll at Illinois Central College. To qualify, a student must have lived continuously in the City of Peoria, West Peoria, or (eligible since 2025) the Village of Peoria Heights for at least four years, and file the FAFSA every year they use the award. A student has up to two years after graduating to apply for the first time, then up to three more years to complete 64 credit hours. The scholarship reimburses completed coursework each semester rather than paying tuition upfront.
DemographicsRequires continuous residency in the City of Peoria, West Peoria, or (eligible since 2025) the Village of Peoria Heights for at least 4 years, plus graduation from an eligible Peoria-area high school, GED program, or approved homeschool program.
