The Rees-Chancellor's Scholarship is the University of Pittsburgh's flagship undergraduate merit award, covering full tuition, mandatory fees, the average room-and-board plan, and guaranteed Frederick Honors College housing for four years (eight semesters). There is no standalone scholarship application; students apply to the Frederick Honors College by its December 1 deadline, and a subset of admitted Honors College applicants are then invited to interview with the Rees-Chancellor's Scholarship Committee. Recipients must stay enrolled full-time (at least 12 credits a semester) and maintain satisfactory academic progress to keep the award each year, and must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
