The MATC Promise Plus Scholarship covers tuition and required MATC Bookstore materials, after other financial aid and scholarships are applied, for eligible new high school graduates (including GED, HSED, and Adult High School completers) enrolling at Milwaukee Area Technical College. Applicants must live in a low-income household (below 200% of the federal poverty level), enroll in at least nine college-level credits toward an eligible technical diploma or associate degree program, and never have earned a college degree before. A FAFSA is required every year. Technical diploma students can receive up to four semesters of support and associate degree students up to seven semesters, as long as they keep at least a 2.0 GPA, complete 67% of attempted credits each semester, and continue to meet the income requirement.
DemographicsMust graduate from a high school within the MATC District — all of Milwaukee County, the southern two-thirds of Ozaukee County, and parts of Washington County — or otherwise live in that district (GED/HSED/Adult High School completers included).
Covers remaining tuition and required MATC Bookstore materials after other aid is applied; support runs up to 4 semesters for a technical diploma or 7 semesters for an associate degree.
