The Presidential Scholarship is Villanova University's most prestigious merit award, covering undergraduate tuition (fall and spring), on-campus housing, a meal plan of up to 21 meals per week, the general fee, and the Textbook Access Program fee, through one degree or eight semesters, whichever comes first. Twenty-five scholarships are offered annually to students the university calls transformational leaders on and off campus. There is no separate nomination step and no minimum GPA or test score (Villanova remains test-optional); every applicant who submits the Common Application is automatically considered. Students the admissions committee flags as strong candidates are invited -- mid-January for Early Action/Early Decision I applicants, February for Regular Decision/Early Decision II -- to complete a short Presidential Scholars Program application with additional short-answer essays, then finalists interview on campus in March before scholarship decisions go out.
DemographicsRequires admission to Villanova University. Open nationally; test-optional with no published minimum GPA or test score -- selection is holistic.
