The Presidential Scholarship is one of the University of Oregon's top merit awards for Oregon residents, given to about 50 incoming first-year students each year. Recipients receive $9,000 per year, up to $36,000 over four years, based on academic preparation, activities and talents, leadership, volunteer service, work experience, and four short-answer essays.
