Heroes' Legacy Scholarship

Fisher House Foundation funds this scholarship, seeded by royalties from President Obama's book Of Thee I Sing, for the dependent children of service members who died on active duty or became severely disabled on or after September 11, 2001. Eligible children are unmarried, under 23, and enroll full-time in a bachelor's degree or transferable community-college program. High school applicants need a 3.0 unweighted GPA.

DemographicsFor unmarried dependents under 23 whose parent died on active duty or was severely disabled (TSGLI-qualifying or 100% permanent) on or after September 11, 2001.

The number and size of awards depend on that year's book royalties, sponsorships, and donations.
