The Murchison Scholarship recognizes entering first-year students with distinguished scholastic records. It is awarded automatically during Trinity's regular admission review, so there is no separate scholarship application to submit. Top-scoring Murchison recipients are invited to compete for up to 20 full-tuition Tower Scholarships or the Semmes Distinguished Scholar in Science award (which adds a $5,000 stipend for research, travel, and materials) during an on-campus competition day.
