Cleco Power's Inclusion Culture Council created the Power of a Promise Scholarship in 2020 for Louisiana high school juniors and seniors who demonstrate financial need (family adjusted gross income of $75,000 or less, or Pell Grant eligibility) and plan to attend Central Louisiana Technical Community College's Alexandria campus for cyber security, industrial manufacturing technology, or the Line Worker Training Program. Applicants must be on track to graduate with at least a 2.0 GPA and score at least Bronze on the ACT WorkKeys assessments; admission to CLTCC's Alexandria campus is required before funds are released. The application period normally runs Sept. 1 through March 15, with recipients announced in April; Cleco's page does not publish a specific award amount or number of recipients.
