Excellence Scholarship (Gustavus Adolphus College)

The Excellence Scholarship is the highest of Gustavus Adolphus College's five academic merit scholarship tiers for incoming first-year students, worth $42,000 a year. It is awarded automatically at the time of admission, based on official unweighted high school GPA and the other factors the college weighs in its holistic review — there is no separate scholarship application. The award is renewable for up to four years (eight semesters) of continuous full-time enrollment as long as the student stays in good academic standing. Gustavus does not publish an exact GPA cutoff for the Excellence tier specifically, though it sits above the college's Gold, Three Crowns, Dean's, and President's merit tiers.
