South Dakota Firefighters Association Scholarship

The South Dakota Firefighters Association awards two $2,000 scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors or first-semester college students. You need to be the child of a current, retired, or deceased member of a South Dakota fire department (or be an active junior firefighter yourself), sponsored by a department with full SDFA membership, the SD Firefighters Auxiliary, a local department auxiliary, or a Dear Old Timers member. Funds can be used at any college, university, or vocational-technical program, though preference goes to fire or emergency-service degree paths. Applications must be received or postmarked by March 15.
