The Johnson Scholars Program is Santa Clara University's most selective merit award, given to only 5 incoming first-year students each year who show the highest levels of academic achievement, leadership, and service. Only students admitted Early Action or Early Decision I are eligible, and they must also apply to the University Honors Program; finalists are invited to a virtual Selection Day in mid-March before the five Scholars are chosen. The award covers up to full tuition, standard room and board, and books and supplies, renews for 12 consecutive quarters as long as the student stays in good standing, and comes with a summer research/internship stipend students can apply for in their sophomore or junior year. It isn't open to international students.
