Achieve Twin Cities administers more than 70 individual scholarship funds worth over $150,000 combined each year, exclusively for graduating seniors and recent graduates of Minneapolis Public Schools headed to a two- or four-year accredited postsecondary program. Individual awards start at $1,000 and are one-time, non-renewable first-year awards. There's no single districtwide application or deadline — each MPS high school's Career & College Center coordinator manages its own funds and process, with information going out to all MPS students and school scholarship committees in late winter and early spring, and selection committees choosing recipients around early May. Ask your MPS counselor which of the 70+ funds you qualify for; an optional essay (up to 500 words, on an approved or universal prompt) is part of some applications.
