American Legion Auxiliary Department of Wisconsin Merit and Memorial Scholarship

The American Legion Auxiliary, Department of Wisconsin awards eight $1,000 Merit and Memorial Scholarships each year. Eligible applicants are a child, grandchild, great-grandchild, step-descendant, wife, or widow of an honorably discharged American veteran, with at least a 3.5 GPA and demonstrated financial need. The scholarship can be used at any accredited college, university, or vocational school in the United States. Applications require a typed 300-word essay, a transcript, a copy of the veteran's discharge papers, and three letters of recommendation, signed by a local Auxiliary unit sponsor.
