The North Carolina Society of Surveyors Education Foundation awards up to $2,500 a year to students entering a surveying, geomatics, or closely related program — including graduating high school seniors. You'll need a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better and should be able to show genuine interest in land surveying, whether through coursework, an internship, Surveying Camp, the high school Trig Star competition, or similar experience. A FAFSA is optional but used to weigh financial need, and applications open January 1, with a priority round closing March 15 and a secondary round for any remaining funds closing September 1.
