The NAWIC Founders' Scholarship Foundation (NFSF), the scholarship arm of the National Association of Women in Construction, awards more than $400,000 each year to students preparing for careers across the construction industry, spanning trades, project management, administrative, legal, financial, insurance, and business-ownership paths. Its Construction Trades track is open directly to graduating high school seniors, provided they will be concurrently enrolled in an approved apprenticeship program (through the Bureau of Apprenticeship Training), a community college, or a technical-school construction-trades program; awards start at $2,000 in $500 increments. The program is open to applicants of any gender -- NAWIC's sponsorship supports growing the broader construction workforce, not only women -- and requires no NAWIC membership or fee to apply (a separate administrative fee applies only to donors establishing a named award, not to student applicants). Applications are accepted each year from roughly early February through March 6 for the following academic year.
