The Edward G. Rector Scholarship is DePauw University's oldest and preeminent merit award, running since 1919 with more than 4,000 alumni recipients. It provides a full-tuition scholarship to the most academically accomplished students in the applicant pool — typically the top five percent — chosen for rigorous coursework, leadership, and character. Eligible candidates are invited to complete a required essay as part of selection, and recipients must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA to keep the award.
DemographicsRequires admission to DePauw University; eligible top applicants are invited to submit a required Rector essay — no separate scholarship application beyond that.
