The Washington State Elks Association awards Vocational Grants to graduating high school seniors and GED recipients who are U.S. citizens planning vocational or technical training at a Washington community college or technical school. Applications go directly through waelks.org regardless of local Lodge involvement, and funds are paid directly to the school for tuition, fees, books, and supplies. No Elks membership is required. The State Vocational Grant Committee selects four recipients each year based on a 250-word personal statement, a parent/guardian statement, and up to six letters of recommendation.
