The Army Women's Foundation Legacy Scholarship Program funds four tracks -- certificate, community college, undergraduate, and graduate -- for women who have served or are serving honorably in the U.S. Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard, or their lineal descendants (proof of honorable service, such as a DD-214, is required). Certificate and community college applicants need only a high school diploma or GED and a 2.5 GPA; undergraduate and graduate applicants need a 3.0 GPA and completed coursework. Named funds include the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion Scholarship ($2,500), the M.M. Costello Scholarship ($3,000, healthcare majors), the LTC Nancy Porr Scholarship ($2,000, nursing/healthcare), and two $5,000 PCSI awards reserved for disabled women veterans or their descendants with a 50%+ VA disability rating. Selection weighs merit, academic potential, a two-page essay, community service, recommendation letters, and financial need. Most recipients can receive the award up to twice.
