Each Wisconsin public and private high school nominates its senior with the highest GPA (or, for home-based private education programs, an ACT score of 33+ or SAT of 1500+) for a $2,250-per-year scholarship toward tuition, funded half by the state and half by the enrolling college. Larger high schools receive more than one scholarship based on total enrollment. Recipients must enroll full-time by September 30 after graduation at a participating UW System, technical college, independent, or tribal college in Wisconsin, and can use the award for up to 8 semesters. There is no separate student application -- high schools submit nominations directly to HEAB.
DemographicsAwarded by class GPA rank at the student's own high school, not a separate student application; home-schooled/private-program students qualify instead via ACT 33+ or SAT 1500+.
$2,250/year toward tuition, funded equally by the state and the enrolling institution.
