Star Awards go to the birth, adopted, or step children of eligible GE Aerospace employees who are enrolling for the first time in a full-time undergraduate program at an accredited four-year college or university, community college, or vocational-technical school. Awards are $5,000 for students headed to a four-year school and $2,000 for those headed to a two-year or vocational-technical program, paid as a one-time, non-renewable award. Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, an essay, and an outside recommendation, and is reviewed by independent committees organized by the Institute of International Education so no GE Aerospace employee judges the applications. In 2025 the program supported 75 students.
