Formerly the Young Women in Public Affairs Award, this program recognizes young women ages 16 to 19 (as of April 1) who show a commitment to volunteerism and experience in local government, student government, or workplace leadership. Applicants apply through a local Zonta club; one candidate advances per club to the district level and then to Zonta International, and the five largest districts may submit a second candidate. Zonta International awards $5,000 each to 37 international-level recipients; any club- or district-level recognition is funded and set locally, not by Zonta International.
Eligibility
DemographicsOpen to young women ages 16-19 (as of April 1) living in a Zonta district or a citizen of a Zonta country; current Zonta club members, individuals with direct Zonta International membership, and employees of Zonta International or the Zonta Foundation for Women are not eligible. Z Club and Golden Z Club members may apply.
Applying
37 international recipients receive $5,000 each; club- and district-level recognition (if any) is determined locally and its amount is not set by Zonta International.
