San Antonio Area Foundation Legacy Scholarship

The Legacy Scholarship, funded by an anonymous donor through the San Antonio Area Foundation, pays $10,000 a year for up to four years of college to a limited number of students each year -- 110 students split $4.4 million in the most recently completed cycle. Applicants must be current high school juniors who live in, or attend high school in, Bexar County (San Antonio) or Webb County (Laredo), show leadership and community involvement, and plan to attend a Texas college or university. The online application asks for an account, a transcript, and three short essays; selected finalists must attend a mandatory information session, and all applicants are notified by late April. No application fee.
