The Navy SEAL Foundation awards scholarships to unmarried dependents 26 or younger and to spouses of active-duty and veteran Navy SEALs and Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen. An outside review committee scores each application and sets award amounts based on merit. Every applicant submits a 500-word essay along with transcripts or a college acceptance letter, and the foundation runs two application cycles a year.
