The IAM Scholarship Competition, funded since 1960, awards $1,000 a year toward a bachelor's degree to children of IAM members, renewable up to four years ($4,000 total), or $2,000 a year toward a vocational/technical certification, renewable up to two years ($4,000 total). IAM members can also apply for their own education, receiving $2,000 a year for one to four years (up to $8,000 total). A child applicant's parent must have two years of continuous good-standing membership, and children must be planning to graduate high school that school year. The number of awards varies with the fund's finances each year (16 scholarships were awarded for the 2024-25 cycle).
