American Sokol Merit Award

The American Sokol Merit Award gives $1,000 to a graduating high school senior (or other full-time student) who belongs to American Sokol or is the child of a member. The Education Committee weighs cultural and educational activities, unit and district participation, a personal essay, and a letter of recommendation; a student may apply more than once but can receive the award only once. Applications go through a district or unit educational director rather than a central online portal.

Eligibility

DemographicsMust be a member of American Sokol (a Czech-American gymnastics and cultural organization) or the child of a member; joining a local unit involves ordinary dues, not a fee to enter the scholarship.
