Administered through Red Lake Nation's Oshkiimaajitahdah program under Public Law 102-477, the Red Lake Scholarship (Higher Education) provides both undergraduate and graduate funding to enrolled tribal members, with awards based on financial need — a student with no unmet need or a Student Aid Index (SAI) of $10,000 or more is not eligible. Undergraduates can receive $900–$1,800 per semester depending on enrollment level (up to $3,600/year full-time); graduate students receive a flat $3,600 toward their first master's degree. Applicants submit an intake application with tribal enrollment verification, a FAFSA, and an acceptance letter to the Oshkiimaajitahdah office in Redby, Minnesota. Applications are accepted twice a year: the fall deadline is the first Friday in September, and the spring deadline is the first Friday in February.
