The Ray Aviation Scholarship funds up to $12,000 in flight training toward a Private or Sport Pilot certificate (ages 16-19) or a Glider Pilot certificate (ages 15-19). Candidates must be nominated by a local EAA chapter — EAA does not accept direct applications — and must have taken at least one EAA Young Eagles flight. Once approved, scholars must begin training within 30 days, complete two hours of chapter volunteer service per month, and hit checkride milestones on a set timeline.
