The Colonel John Mitchell Chapter of the DAR in Anchorage gives one to four awards of $500 to $2,000 in each of two yearly review cycles, to U.S. citizens who can show real financial need -- no DAR membership or Revolutionary War lineage required. Applications are accepted year-round: get yours in by June for an August award, or by December for a January one, along with a 400-500 word statement explaining your financial situation.
DemographicsMust be a U.S. citizen able to demonstrate financial need; DAR membership and lineage to a Revolutionary War patriot are not required.
Typically 1 to 4 awards are made each six-month review cycle, and the exact amount depends on funds available.
