The Kentucky Firefighters Association's Wayne Watts Memorial Scholarship sends a $1,000 check straight to your college for a fire science, paramedic science, safety engineering, or other justified emergency-services major. It's open to active Kentucky firefighters, Jr. firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics, as well as their children, as long as the department pays dues to KFA. New fall applications are due May 15, and the award can be renewed each semester by reapplying.
