Fred & Lena Meijer Scholarship

Established in 1975 for children of Meijer team members and expanded in 2010 to include team members themselves, the Fred & Lena Meijer Scholarship supports undergraduate study at any U.S. college, university, or training school, awarding a number of $5,000 and $10,000 scholarships each year based on academic or technical achievement, financial need, and community involvement. Applicants (or their parent) must have continuous Meijer service; scholarships are not renewable, though past recipients may reapply as new applicants. The application opens December 1 and closes March 1 each year (11:59 PM EST), and it's administered by the Grand Rapids Community Foundation rather than by Meijer directly.
