The KFC Foundation Scholarship offers $5,000, $10,000, or $20,000 awards (minimum 2.5 GPA for $5,000; 3.5 GPA for the higher tiers) to employees at participating KFC restaurants in the U.S., with no minimum hours required -- so a high schooler working part-time at KFC can apply directly. Applicants must have graduated high school, earned a GED, or be graduating high school in the current year, and be enrolling in an accredited trade school, college, or graduate program. Recipients are selected based on essay score, and an additional essay is required for the $10,000/$20,000 tiers. One winner a year doubles their award through the Janet L. Kuhn Scholarship, and anyone who earns a GED through the Foundation is guaranteed a $5,000 award. The 2025-26 cycle has closed and the Foundation has not yet posted the next application window.
