Colorado Society of Professional Journalists Scholarship

The Colorado Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists awards the Helen Verba Award for print and digital journalism and the Sheldon Peterson Award for broadcast journalism, each worth up to $5,000. Graduating high school seniors from or living in Colorado are eligible alongside college students, as long as they intend to pursue a career in journalism. The application requires a roughly 500-word original essay, and the chapter explicitly screens for AI-generated content. One or more scholarships are awarded in each category.
