The Helen Diller Family Foundation awards up to 15 Jewish teens $36,000 each annually for leading an initiative that embodies tikkun olam ('repairing the world'), from environmental work to social justice to education access. Applicants (or their nominators) submit a written or video response describing the project, their leadership role, and its measurable, sustainable impact, plus up to 10 pages of optional supporting attachments. Applications and nominations open in August; only semifinalists/finalists are later asked for references.
DemographicsApplicants must identify as Jewish, be 15-19 years old by the deadline, and be U.S. residents (continental U.S., Alaska, or Hawaii) leading their project from the U.S. (though the project itself may have global reach). Ineligible if a sibling won the award in the preceding five years.
$36,000 to each of up to 15 winners per year; funds may be used for the recipient's philanthropic work or their education.
