Bennington College's Young Writers Awards recognize original poetry, fiction, and nonfiction from students in grades 9-12 worldwide, with no entry fee. Cash prizes are awarded in each of the three categories: $2,000 for first place, $1,000 for second, $500 for third, and $250 for distinguished submissions. Winners who later enroll at Bennington receive additional scholarships tied to their result: a full-tuition award for four years for first-place winners, a half-tuition award for four years for distinguished-designation recipients, and a $25,000 annual award for four years for finalists.
