Lighthouse Guild awards scholarships each year to legally blind high school seniors entering college as well as students pursuing graduate degrees. Up to 20 undergraduate scholarships and at least one graduate scholarship are given annually — in 2024, 10 undergraduate and 6 graduate students received awards. The money is unrestricted, so it can go toward tuition, room and board, books, supplies, or travel. You'll need documentation of legal blindness from a state rehabilitation agency, ophthalmologist, or optometrist, transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and a short personal statement. There's no fee to apply.
