Wayne State University's Heart of Detroit Tuition Pledge covers up to the full cost of tuition and standard fees for eligible Detroit students admitted as first-time, full-time freshmen, renewable up to four years (a fifth is possible if a student is on track to graduate). There's no income cap and no minimum GPA -- students just need to be admitted to Wayne State, meet the Detroit residency or high school rule, and file the FAFSA on time each year. It covers tuition and fees only, not housing or books, and requires full-time enrollment (12+ credits) each fall and winter term.
DemographicsMust live in the City of Detroit (verified by mailing address) and have graduated high school in 2020 or later, OR have graduated from any Detroit high school -- public, private, charter, parochial, home school, or GED program -- in 2020 or later; must enroll at Wayne State as a first-time, full-time freshman.
Covers tuition and standard fees (matriculation, registration, student service) at Wayne State, minus other federal, state, and WSU aid already received; renewable up to four years, with a possible fifth year if on track to graduate.
