The Vermont Grant is a need-based award for Vermont residents enrolled in an undergraduate degree or certificate program at any Title IV-eligible college, in Vermont or elsewhere. Full-time awards for 2025-26 ranged from about $1,000 to $15,350 per year, based on FAFSA-derived need factors such as income, assets, family size, and cost of attendance -- grades are not a factor. Students apply by filing the FAFSA and a Vermont Grant Application through their MyVSAC account, and may receive funding for up to 10 semesters before earning a bachelor's degree.
DemographicsVermont residents only; applicant must not already hold a bachelor's degree (exceptions for medical/veterinary students).
2025-26 full-time award range; amount depends on financial need and varies year to year with available state funding.
